Gabrielle is French born and started a doctorate in philosophy at Paul Valery University, Montpellier, France. She became a philosophy teacher for senior students in high school. After five years, she decided to take time off from her teaching to concentrate on her writing for children, her real love. She joined the Society for Children Writers and Illustrators in 2003 and has since attended their national conferences in New York and Los Angeles as well as local conferences in New Jersey. She works closely with sister and co-author, Valerie.
